Not too long ago I received a package which contained not one, but two bottles of Apple Cider Vinegar (also known as ACV). I can't just walk over to Whole Foods anymore, so this was silly exciting. ACV is a magical elixir which could help with digestion and detoxification, and aid in weight loss. It can also be beneficial for problematic skin when applied topically, and even help with sun burn. (I learned that after my Florida trip last year, ha!)

Make sure you get organic and raw vinegar, containing a sediment which is referred to as "the mother". It contains some protein, healthy enzymes, pectin, and probiotic properties due to "good" bacteria. My favorite is Bragg Apple Cider Vinegar, which is organic, raw, undistilled and unfiltered.

The easiest way to start using it is diluting about a tablespoon in a glass of water. You can alternate this with your lemon water in the morning. Or, you can mix and drink the ACV whenever you like during the day, especially after a heavy meal. I also love to add it to my salads along with olive oil, and all sorts of spices.

This vinegar is also a natural antibiotic, so it's a great product to use when you feel like you're coming up with something, or when you are sick. I prefer to avoid any type of medicine, so ACV comes to the rescue with its essential oil friends, and fruit high in vitamin C.

ACV also boosts your metabolism, aids digestion, and helps get rid of water retention, controls blood sugars, so it can help with weight loss or bloating.

If you have problematic skin or acne, you can use ACV as a toner to help get rid of the problem. I've been lucky with my skin, so I haven't tried it with acne, but I have seen wonders when I burned in the hot Florida sun celebrating my birthday by the ocean.

If you haven't tried ACV yet, give it a go, and let me know what you think. And if you're already loving it, then continue! ;)
